Sakana Sushi Grill - Phoenix

Food was good, service not so much. From my perspective, it appeared they forgot our order. The waitress actually sent a second waitress to ask about the food, which made me think maybe our chef and waitress had a problem with eachother. So we waited over 45 minutes (from when we ordered, side note we had to wait a bit to get our order in) for 3 rolls (once he started it took him less then 5 minutes to make them). I watched that for 15 minutes of it, the 3 chef's only produced one roll. Then the waitress knowing we were upset, I guess decided avoiding us was the answer. So we ate 3 rolls with no water or service after. The owner was kind and apologetic and she gave as a small discount. I wish I was not so upset, but there seemed to be games and my wife and I were caught in it. Or they just forgot our order. Either way not a good experience. The sushi was fine though, but not worth all that! Hopefully someday I'll try it again and be able to update this post with many great comments. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the food was okay, and the owner was apologetic. Granted that was at the end of the whole 2 hrs of a night there.

Ok I get it AZ is hard to do good sushi and in a dirt search for food before a movie I saw that this had decent reviews, so since I was already looking for sushi we decided to risk it!! Well, the risk that the night was a little slow, but at the end it was completely with every last bite!! This was officially added to our finally good sushi place. Great work all tonight was delicious!!

Fresh Sushi I've been there for a while. Extensive but proportions reflect the price. The crab mixture is so creamy. You can try everything in a mix.

Sakana is the best in the valley for fresh fish at a reasonable price. Their portions are large, the food is delicious, and the prices are great. Add to that great service and it's a can't miss!

I normally go to another location on Indian Bend Hayden. Alway have an excellent service and good size of sushi. Here I ordered two rolls, both of them were ok, 3+. Blood orange roll size was too small and the salmon on the top of the roll was paper thin. Second Las Vegas roll was even worse. The pieces were very small and had nothing in it but rice. Plus they didn't want to seat 2 people on 4 seats table, even though they had bunch of them available when we came. I think that is ridiculous!
