Never disappoint, the green chile Pasty, just heavenly.

I was really looking forward to dinner, and was sorely disappointed.We ordered the oggie and oven chips. The chips arrived about 8 minutes before the pasty. They were GROSS. After about 4 minutes I finally got up and asked for some salt and ranch. The ranch is actually really good. The salt helped a little. The pasty arrived, the bottom was burned, and it was kinda flavorless. The gravy was great though. After a few minutes the server came round and we FINALLY got napkins, and only because I asked, we never got forks (the pasty fell apart).The service must rely on quantity not quality, and the food obviously relies on sauces (which were great).

Cornish Pasty is one of the most unique places to dine and gather in Phoenix. Their downtown location has an old dive bar feel but with, cushioned comfortable seating options, large tables for big groups, outside dining, an upstairs and downstairs bar. Upstairs you can find a couple of pool tables and a dart board, all free to use. Their bathroom is donned with funny and memorable graffiti, just adding to the charm. What makes this place worthy of 5 stars is their delicious pasties. Picture a stromboli, but flakier, and filled with almost any flavor profile, Greek, Italian, Irish, Cajun, thanksgiving, bangers and mash... You name it. Go earlier in the day to get your pick of their options because these are prepared fresh in the window daily and when they run out of their pasties for the day, you gotta wait till the next day. If you have a sweet tooth you can have a warm apple pie or PBJ pasty. I always recommend them as a must visit for friends in town. Kid-friendliness: Although they have a bar, all ages are welcome and can enjoy the pool tables too. It was nice to play while we waited for our meal.
