Bidra med feedbackIt was a lovely night and luckily they had a table available for us outside. The waitress was super attentive to our family and never skipped a beat with our food order. The food was delicious and everyone left happy, and with teenagers that is not an easy feat. The surrounding area and park was quite picturesque and was perfect to walk around after dinner was complete. We stumbled on this place but had a delightful evening!
This was my first visit to the lovely town of Perth, and I was recommended to this restaurant by some of the friendly folks in the town. After arriving at the restaurant, despite multiple tables were available, the front desk staff insisted that the only table available is one near the door under a very dim lighting, while in fact there were other tables available in different and brighter area of the restaurant at the time. Despite I asked several times if other tables were available, the staff refused to accommodate and insisted they weren't seating people in those area. After leaving the restaurant, I noticed the staff welcomed other groups (all of which were white) to the tables that were indicated unavailable just minutes ago. This is both a disppointing and eye opening experience that this well known restaurant seems to have a preference for their customers based on race and ethnicity.
My buddy and I were in the area for a few days to 'Ride the Highlands ' on our motorcycles. We stopped in here for a cold drink and a break. This is a beautiful bar/restaurant and it is very friendly. We spoke with the bartender and some patrons about what sights to check out. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good too. This place is part of a larger building and there is a walkway through the middle, with clean restrooms, and other shops. I highly recommend stopping here!
We do not live in the area, and it had been a few years before Covid hit since we last visited this restaurant. In the past, we had a great meal with another couple after the Garlic Festival, so we were eager to give it another try. We made a reservation in advance for our anniversary dinner, hoping for a romantic spot, but were not accommodated. The restaurant is spacious compared to others in Perth, with upscale pub-like decor, nice views, and a large bar area. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first, but did not acknowledge our special occasion. The calamari appetizer was excellent, and the wine and beer we ordered were good. Our main dish, the Prime Rib au Jus with St. Albert cheese curd mashed potatoes and green beans, was disappointing. The steaks were too rare, the potatoes were lukewarm, and the beans were undercooked. After sending the food back, it came back hot and cooked properly. The other waitress checked on us and apologized, while our original waitress was slow to follow up. The steak was fatty and difficult to cut, leaving us unsatisfied for the price we paid. We were disappointed and did not bother with dessert. Overall, our experience was subpar and we felt we could have had a better meal at home.
We were two couples in the late 50s that stopped over for lunch on a Friday afternoon . We ordered different food items and we all enjoyed our meal. The server was very friendly and provided excellent service. Great atmosphere to spend time with friends. Beautiful historic building but unfortunately, our table was located in a corner and my allergies were really bothering me (but not the 3 others at our table). I assume it is probably mold our dust from an historical building. Will definitely go back but will sit in a different location.
