You only have to decide what matters most to you: the modest appearance of the place or the quality of the meal. The place resembles any normal small town cafe, with an outdoor area where you can have your meal or drink a fine fresh green wine, but nothing fancy. The menu consists in half a dozen of dishes but, trust me, it will be more than enough! Don 't overthink it and go with the staff or the owner 's suggestion. The octopus Polvo à Lagareiro is a good choice, but if you 're more of a meat kind of guy, the tender grilled veal will be a fine experience. The portions are generous and depending on your appetite, probably you should opt for a dose for two... and go from there. Ask for the entrées (home made rissols, ham, etc and make it accompanied by a sparkly fresh green wine. The fist potatoes (boiled, salted and served with its peal on are delicious and you can dip them in olive based dressing. When the moment comes for you to reach for the wallet, you should expect to pay something in the vicinity of 80 euros, comprising: 1 bottle of wine, 2 sodas (for the kids, aged 14 and 19 , one and a half doses of grilled veal with potatoes and salad and a dose of beef with potatoes and rice, desserts and the before mentioned entrées. The service is fast and very friendly. There are other possibilities (fancier ones! for an enjoyable meal in Amarante, but with this place you can 't go wrong.

Desde o espaço exterior, fantástico, a uma cozinha imaculada, passando pelo profissionalismo dos funcionários, tudo aqui é feito a pensar em servir bem o cliente. A simpatia, a par da qualidade é do melhor que já encontrei. Recomendo vivamente. Preço acessível.
