Rustic Fire Pizza - Paso Robles

Excellent pizza! Unlike other pizza places, they offer gluten-free and vegan crusts without extra charges, and there's no size limitation. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot—it has a great atmosphere. They also offer vegan and gluten-free cheese!

This is one of the few spots along the route from San Francisco to Los Angeles that offers vegan options. While it’s not strictly a vegan or vegetarian restaurant, there are at least three menu items that are either vegan or can be made vegan: the roasted vegetable sandwich (just request it without cheese), a salad, and pizza. The veggie pizza is quite tasty, and they offer Daiya vegan cheese—though it's not listed on the menu, so be sure to ask for it. They also serve beer and wine. For dessert, you can enjoy strawberry sorbet.

I had my first dining experience at Rustic Fire during the pandemic after hearing some positive reviews. Intrigued by their vegan options, I decided to order the Hawaiian pizza with vegan cheese, requesting no ham or cow cheese on my half. The pizza came topped with cashews and pineapple, and I added jalapeños to create a Hawaiian Volcano from their secret menu. The restaurant offered outdoor seating, where I noticed some customers not wearing masks while eating, but the staff were careful to wear masks, and there were plexiglass barriers indoors for safety. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. I appreciated their low-waste approach, using reusable water bottles and sturdy paper plates for service. My pizza was served on a tin tray with parchment paper separating the vegan side from the meat side. The Hawaiian pizza with cashews was absolutely delicious and great for sharing. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

The service, recommendations, and engaging wine discussions from the staff were all exemplary. We began our meal with the cheese breadsticks, which paired wonderfully with their house marinara sauce. Next, we shared a Caesar salad, which was creamy, refreshing, crunchy, and absolutely delicious. However, the highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the hot prosciutto flatbread sandwich. Just take a look at the pictures—it practically melts in your mouth. It was unbelievably tasty! We initially stopped by just to enjoy the sunset with some wine, and we ended up at this fantastic spot. A big shoutout to the staff and everyone involved in creating that scrumptious sandwich!
