Paso Terra

Paso Terra was a small, intimate and delightful place. The little extra touches made this dining experience a memorable one. The chef's food art tasted delicious and looked wonderful as you can see by the pictures. His artistic flair extended to canvas aswell. His paintings decorated the walls adding vibrant splashes of color. An absolute must for a culinary experience in PasoRobles.

What a disappointing evening! When we arrived, we discovered that our table had two used water glasses that we needed to move. The server appeared to be overwhelmed and accidentally dropped a few items before quickly leaving. For appetizers, we ordered stuffed squid and escargot. The squid was rubbery, while the escargot was good, although the sauce that came with it was quite watery. For our main courses, we tried the mixed seafood plate and the paella, both of which were incredibly bland and lacked flavor. Unfortunately, after such poor food and service, I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

The food was simply exquisite, demonstrating an incredible attention to detail. Every dish was made from scratch, fresh, and full of flavor. The customer service was exceptional, offering a personal touch to each guest. The atmosphere, both inside and outside, was charming. The busy chef even made it a point to visit each table and chat with us. With his background in French cuisine, he creates the most remarkable meals. I will certainly come back when I'm in town again! I highly recommend it!

I will never return to this restaurant. We arrived at 8:10, and as soon as we walked in, a waitress at a nearby table commented that we had just missed the rush before heading to the kitchen. The kitchen door was left open, and another woman gave us a dismissive look before approaching us. We were hopeful for a pleasant experience, but instead, she sized us up and then informed us that the kitchen was closing. My son expressed his disappointment, and her response was snarky towards him. It seemed like several other tables had just finished dining, leading us to feel like we weren't the right clientele for them. If she had simply been polite, I wouldn't have felt the need to leave such a negative review, but I have never been treated so poorly. It's unfortunate that the three of us ended up at a different restaurant, where we spent over $250, including a generous tip for our waitress and bartender. After looking through other reviews, it seems we're not the only ones who felt unwelcome. I'm glad we decided to take our business elsewhere.

This is our second visit to this restaurant during our trips to Paso Robles, and everything was just as wonderful as we remembered. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the area. It’s the ideal seafood restaurant! Rating: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.
