Silver Slate Steak House

On July 17 for dinner. Without reservation they were booked solid We arrived at 5:10. Told us table for 6 booked. We have said to bring food quickly, we will go free salad, pasta, and bread were amazing We had the chicken with the... rolled potatoes. Was amazing!!! Dined and completely left. Great dinner. We called a few hours in advance and made a reservation for two. Armed on time and were sitting immediately. It's a local restaurant. Tastefully decorated and very clean. Small details make us a difference. Ice water was COLD and served with lemons.... order a drink and immediately free HOT bread and butter was brought to our table. Drinks came quickly... like a free salad and a small bowl of pasta. This is brought to every table, regardless of what you order. Hubby had the regular Hamburger $12.50 . Came piping hot with big frits. He said it was delicious and it was a huge handmade patty. I had the special full rack of ribs with potatoes potatoes $27 when I could eat and they were dropped from the bone delicious. I took half the order home the next day. Again the food came hot and on HOT plates. A do about restaurant for us. We liked it very much. * Reservation required

The food was delicious. The ribs fell apart and the potato pack is the way for a potato to try something very unique. This restaurant is highly recommended that you do not leave this place hungry. I'm back.

My husband, two friends, and I had dinner at Silver Slate Steakhouse in Nanton/Stavely last night. We were all very pleased with the food and service. Two of us ordered ribeye steaks, one fillet, and one T-bone. All of the steaks and sides were excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our meals included appetizers such as salads and even pasta, which was a strange but delicious choice. There was a variety of options to choose from on the menu, and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was friendly and the drink menu was reasonably priced. Despite the long drive, we will definitely be returning. - Leona C.

We were just searching online for a restaurant during our road trip and this one caught our eyes. It's location is like in the middle of nowhere.... We called and booked without much expectation, and WOW WOW WOW! The steaks that we had was so...so so good!!! I wasn't even hungry! I must say that I've tasted one of the best steak in my life! You can tell the meat is in top quality and the grilling was perfectly done. I quietly told me husband that our steaks are better than Hy's and he agreed. If we live in Calgary, we wouldn't mind driving an hour for that taste again. Too bad that we live over 1,000 km away...
