Bidra med feedbackI was at Virtus in June 2022. The restaurant is stylish and offers a great setting to have a fun evening and enjoy food and wine. We were seated in the room facing the street windows, which had a great ambience. (There is another dining...area further into the restaurant and away from the street, although it did not seem to have the same ambience and we preferred our location. We chose the 5-course menu. This consisted of 2 starters, 1 main course (we could choose from two and 2 desserts. I would describe the food as focusing on simplicity, flavor and high quality ingredients. We also ordered the wine pairings suggested by the sommelier, which were very good too. Another one of Virtus' strong points is the service. The staff is highly professional and attentive, and made us feel at home. The bill was reasonable given the memorable evening we had.
I came here 2 times, first with a friend, then following week with my wife and my 2 sons so luch I enjoyed the first time. Here are a few highlights All dishes are of course delicious, but also very sharp with a touch...of surprise Duck is amazing, definitely the best I had in my life Atmosphere in this restaurant is great : comfy, with a lot of space and a touch of history. You feel just great inside Service is impeccable. Both times chefs came to great us, all waiters are very nice with great advices So don't hesitate : book and go.
We were recommended this restaurant by a London chef we trust very much, so hoped for a good evening and were not disappointed. The restaurant is fairly unassuming-looking and is in a part of town not particularly known for its fine dining, but presumably what they save in rent they spend on developing their repertoire - this restaurant is turning out some very good food indeed. We had actually forgotten that we were in for a set menu, so there was some confusion (ours) at the outset and we abandoned our attempt to conduct the whole meal in French, as the staff had much better English and there was quite a lot to explain. Each course was beautifully composed, using bold and unusual combinations that actually worked, rather than just being thrown together for novelty value - raw oyster and finely chopped pineapple was an absolute revelation. The sommelier is hugely knowledgeable and rather than pick over the huge and impressive wine list, we took her paired recommendations to match each course, and were delighted with each one (the sake, the Rosé and the single-grape Shiraz were especially good.). Service was friendly and efficient without being at all rushed, and the whole experience was delightful overall. We would love to go back next time we're in Paris and see what developments have come out of that tiny, exciting kitchen. Many thanks!
