Bidra med feedbackI hadn't been to Mano's in a while, so I decided to have lunch there. The lunch specials looked good, but I went with the Salmon from the regular menu. The meal was okay, the shared platter was nice, and the desserts were delicious. However, I have to say that the food wasn't as good as it had been on previous visits. We chose to sit inside near the only air conditioner, which was necessary on such a muggy day. We were comfortable, but it may not have been the case elsewhere inside or outside. The air conditioning unit was malfunctioning, dripping and occasionally spitting water on us—seemed to be overworked or in need of servicing (not sure). Turning on the fans might have helped overall. The service was good, and the staff was friendly. There are a few steps at the entrance inside, so the restaurant is wheelchair-friendly for outdoor dining only. It's a nice spot for couples or small groups for lunch or dinner. The prices are reasonable, and the menu is decent. Mano's is fully licensed, but only allows BYO wine. There is a washroom on-site, but it is not disabled-friendly. Parking is available on the street. The restaurant is in a busy location, with a popular park across the road and other restaurants in the complex, but parking can be found. Overall, it's a relaxing place to dine, although I hope for a better experience next time. I was glad to be in great company!
I am baffled by the positive reviews for this restaurant, as my experience suggests a change in management. We visited on a quiet Sunday night and were seated at the back of the empty room next to the restroom entrance, surrounded by dirty tables. The staff ignored the mess until closing time, leaving us to eat among the filth. The food was subpar, especially given the high prices. My salmon was bland and overcooked, while my husband's Crab pasta tasted canned and my mother's veal parmigiana was tough and burnt. One staff member smelled strongly of body odor, but a young blonde waiter was pleasant. Despite the lack of water service, the stained tablecloths, and overall negative atmosphere, I would not recommend spending $35 per meal here. Look elsewhere for a better dining experience.
I ordered the ragu bolognese and was disappointed to find only 4 small pieces of beef and bits of minced beef in a large bowl of pasta. The menu led me to expect more. The atmosphere was pleasant and the seafood options looked appealing. If I return, I will skip the pasta dishes.
This was an unusual experience. Starters, it was Mothers Day, it was manic. We had a table of 12. That said, our bizzare experience started at the door where the waitress asked my name, clarified it 3 times and she she still mixed it up. Tried to sit us at a table for 4 for 12 people. Said waitress continued to error the whole time we were in the restaurant. Our drinks went on someone elses bill. She delivered someone else 's meal to us, it just happened that some of us had ordered the same thing. She also delivered all meals to one part of the table at the end and told us to pass them around. Upon questioning what one meal was we were advised 'something meat '. There was more but you get the point. The food was hit and miss. A couple of us had good tasty food, the rest was a combination of comments ranging from dried out to questioning if it came from a can. Drink refills were hard to come by. One meal was returned twice because it wasn 't cooked properly. In the end just ate what came out even though incorrect. Given price and occasion i was expecting a better experience. I 've waited several weeks to post this to ensure that any residual emotion had been disolved. Upon choosing this venue i noted other comments somewhat similar to this that had been addressed in a positive way. Problem is, there was no proof of that in the experience.
Used to love this place! It has new management now and the pasta dishes are smaller than before. It used to be good when we could choose a large main size or an entree. Now you can only choose one size and it’s too small for the price. Another let down is we went for locals pasta night and then wasn’t allowed to get takeaway for the same deal. We had to pay full price which is insane when you are advertising $19.90 pasta night. This is the reason we won’t be back as it was silly to not honour the deal for the same dish because we were taking it away. There is no incentive for the customer to get takeaway after a dine in meal. On a good note there is a young waiter with dark hair who is very nice and is the only person holding this place together now. He is soft spoken, polite and pleasant and is too nice to be working here after the new mangers have changed the place.
