When my husband politely asked why other guests were being seated before us, the hostess responded rudely, telling us we were supposed to wait at the podium instead of sitting down. My husband pointed out that the family seated before us was also sitting at a table, but the hostess just yelled at them to stand at the podium. She then proceeded to talk rudely and roll her eyes at us. We were confused and just wanted to eat before catching our flight. Thankfully, our server was very nice to us. It's important for front-facing staff to be kind and welcoming, as the first impression can greatly impact a customer's experience. You never know the reasons why people are traveling, and kindness goes a long way.
