Moran's Grill - Papillion

Tucked away in the basement of the American Legion in downtown Papillion is this hidden little gem. The menu has something for everyone and the food is cooked to order. Not the fanciest place you can dine, but it is good good at an affordable price

The food is good but service is not. The waiter added to an already healthy tip on my credit card. Just a few dollars but dishonest is dishonest. Watch your bill. Pay in cash. I won't go back.

Wired an hour and a half for food and still has not come. They realized they lost the order and still haven't received our food but people who showed up 20 minutes ago are already eating. They really don't seem to even care. Been here several times but not coming back.

We have been coming here for a very long time and cannot say enough good things about the food. However today was not a good experience. A young man named Elijah took our order. One of the most important traits that a waiter needs is to listen to customer. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap with ranch on side. I was not asked if I wanted fries or tots. My husband went up to him and told him that I wanted tots not fries. He admitted he had entered fries and would change it. It came out a Buffalo chicken wrap with ranch on side. I cannot stand Buffalo sauce. It also came with fries. He took it back because I did not want to hold up the other 3 in our party. He said I ordered the wrap with Buffalo sauce. The bill came with the crispy Chicken wrap with ranch sauce on side. I ordered it grilled not fried. A classic case of not listening and making assumptions of what somebody wants. Again this has always been a great place to eat but not today. I am not sure we will be back or will ask for Gary he always gets it right. As a side note, we had our two grand-daughters with us. We went to order for them and was told our drink choices were juice boxes. Neither of them drink juice. The menu says kids meals come with fountain drink. I guess they don't have small glasses anymore so we had to buy them large drinks in addition to their kids meal. It was that or no drink for them. It was a very bad experience from beginning to end.

Opening about a year ago, Moran's has certainly been tested in their first year thanks to Covid. Located inside the American Legion in Papillion, they are making some great food. They have daily specials listed on their web site. These include $6 cheeseburgers (includes fries or tots on Monday, .80 cent wings Tuesday, Chicken Fried Chicken Wednesday, and Tacos on Thursday. We went for lunch during the week and were provided great, friendly service from Gary. They have standard domestic beers on draft and Coke products (yay! . We tried the fried beef tacos, wings, and pork tenderloin sandwich. I love fried taco shells and these were great. The meat however was over seasoned. It was very salty and not my favorite. I hope they change that up a bit. (Alton Brown has a great recipe for taco seasoning. They also need a different salsa or taco sauce. Now, onto the fantastic part of the meal...the wings and the pork sandwich. My dad is very particular (and considers himself a connoisseur of pork tenderloin sandies and he loved this one. He said the breading was perfect, very tasty and the sandwich itself was huge. I had the charred wings with Buffalo and the spicy bourbon sauce. They were really good!! I know my wings and I will definitely be back for these. The only other small gripe I have is the pop music was a bit loud for the daytime. We could have asked them to turn it down a notch, but didn't. I do recommend you check this place out. There's plenty of seating, parking, and even a patio as the weather warms up. They do offer food to go, so one way or another go check them out!!
