Bidra med feedbackI ordered the Mealwitches salmon in zucchini cream sauce and also tried the tomato fennel soup. The meal was decent but the serving size was too small. I really enjoyed the scone- the pastry was really thick and crispy. I also tried the apple caramel scone, which was really yummy, but again, I wished the serving size was larger. The prices are very reasonable! Would recommend for a cute catchup!
Superrrrrrr awesomeeee brunch breakfast very innovative menu yet simplicity in their ingredients simply take your heart away. Must try their vanilla cream scone with Devon cream! My pick from here is goat cheese pesto sconewitch and chicken in white wine sauce mealwitch and not to forget the bumbleberry short cake!
A simple bakery café offering tempting treats. I can't resist going in anytime I am in the area. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed by the food or the service, and that is rare these days. They have managed to carve a name for themselves in the Ottawa food scene and for good reason.
FOOD:<br/ We had come here on a Wednesday morning at around 10:00 am for breakfast. I had settled on the EggWitch, which came with a Scone (I chose Peach Cobbler With Strawberry Jam), Scrambled Eggs With Ham And Cheese, and Fruit (mine had kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, and an orange slice on a bed of lettuce). My mother had chosen the EggWitch as well, with a Gluten-Free Scone (With Rhubarb-Ginger Jam), Scrambled Eggs With Ham, and Fruit (she had apple slices, blueberries, strawberries, and an orange slice on a bed of lettuce). We both shared a pot of Ginger Chai Rooibos Tea (although I had gotten it in a mug as the pot was only big enough for one person). <br/ <br/ When I had first eaten the items from the dish, I was beyond amazed at how delicious everything tasted! The Peach Cobbler Scone was AMAZING, with only the freshest ingredients used, and the most delicious mixture of peach, making it taste beyond wonderful! When I had placed the Strawberry Jam on the Scone, it tasted a million times better; moist and appetizing, just the way I like it. The only thing I would have offered was for it to be warmed-up (if the customer wanted it to be), and to have some butter on the side. Beyond that though, it was a delicious scone! The Scrambled Eggs were also TO DIE FOR, very creamy, with just the perfect amount of fluffiness. I did find the availability of fruit on the dish to be very scarce, and the meal itself was very small considering the price that we had paid. <br/ <br/ In terms of the Ginger Chai Rooibos Tea, we were given a pot at first, then, we noticed that it was leaking water. We then had to have another pot given to us, which we also noticed was leaking water, but not as much. Instead of my mother and I sharing a pot of tea, I was given a mug with a tea bag on its own as the pot was too small for the both of us to share. The tea was very delicious though, and it tasted as though the tea leaves were fresh. I thought all of the flavour went quite well together.<br/ <br/ I was still hungry after finishing my meal therefore, I decided to try the Cream Cheese-Cucumber Sconewitch (With Cranberry Mango Chutney) on a Feta Scone. I really loved this Sconewitch; it had a thick layer of cream cheese, along with slices of cucumbers, lettuce, and the cranberry mango chutney on top of the cream cheese. Also, the scone itself was beyond amazing; it tasted as though it were made on the spot at that moment; very fresh and appetizing. I was very IMPRESSED with how amazing the food tasted; although it was pricey, I was able to tell it was made well.<br/ <br/ ATMOSPHERE:<br/ This cafe was situated inside of an office building on the main floor. We went through the office building in the front to get to the cafe, which was at the back. When we first arrived to the cafe, we noticed it was packed but there were still tables available. The cafe itself had a very relaxed feel to it, with many people reading their books or laptops at the tables while eating or drinking something. I loved the chalkboard with the menu written on it, and the various items that were being sold on the shelves. I did find that it was a bit too small, making it difficult to move in-between tables without bumping into someone or something.<br/ <br/ SERVICE:<br/ When we had placed our order, we were served by a kind younger woman behind the counter. She was very patient, and answered all of our questions, even though there was a line-up forming behind us. Also, the older gentleman that came to take away our leaky pot was very kind, along with the young woman that brought us our meals and took the empty dishes away. This cafe felt like a place that anyone could call home; it was very cozy, definitely a place I felt comfortable in.<br/ <br/ COST:<br/ 2 EggWitch Meals (1 Peach Cobbler Scone With Strawberry Jam, Scrambled Eggs With Ham And Cheese, And Fruit 1 Gluten-Free Scone With Rhubarb-Ginger Jam, Scrambled Eggs With Ham, And Fruit 1 Pot Of Ginger Chai Rooibos Tea): $27.10 (Taxes Included) 1 Cream Cheese-Cucumber Sconewitch: $7.90 (Taxes Included) $35.00 (Total)<br/ <br/ WOULD YOU RETURN?<br/ Without a doubt! Although the prices were a bit high for what we had ordered, everything was top-notch, something that’s hard to find nowadays!
Love their sweet scones. Brunch was nicely done with good variety of fresh fruits. Friendly staff. Scrambled eggs and mushroom ragu was a great match to me.
