Bidra med feedbackThis might be the worst Caribbean food I've ever had in the city. To start, my order was completely wrong. I requested 1 lb each of Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, and BBQ Jerk Chicken, but instead, they sent a two-meat combo that probably contained only half the food I ordered. Overall, the flavors were nonexistent. The rice and peas were mushy and bland, while the Jerk Chicken tasted old and unappetizing, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The BBQ Jerk Chicken was no better, just drenched in some kind of sauce. The beef patties were store-bought, which turned out to be the only decent part of the meal, as they actually had some flavor, despite being soggy. And can you believe a Caribbean restaurant doesn't offer plantains as a side? I cannot recommend this place at all. You'd be better off going to Ocho Rios or Run2Patty instead.
This restaurant is now permanently closed, which is a real shame. It was fantastic and almost felt like you were in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the pandemic took a toll on many wonderful family-run establishments.
J Chicken lacks flavor, being overly bland with no spice or char. The rice and peas are just overcooked rice without any peas, and there’s no plantain either. While I wouldn’t call it terrible, it’s definitely uninspired and far from impressive.
This place is a joke. Look at the picture, THAT is what they call a Full sized meal for 20 DOLLARS!! For just $16-$19, you can get 3x the size of this meal at any decent shawarma place. The owner will try to justify it as quality pricing , that they try not to have the cheapest food . They 're lying to you, because if they were telling the truth, the food WOULDN 'T TASTE LIKE A $5 FOOD COURT MEALLook at the amazing steamed vegetables . They literally went to Walmart and served you frozen vegetables. Holy craaaap.
Ordered their roti for the first time life changing. If you haven’t yet, you HAVE to.Check out their new food truck opening soon too!
