Chilaquiles - Ottawa

The meal was served on a thin metal plate that might work for the kitchen, but it quickly lost heat, leaving my food cold by the time I was halfway through. Sitting by the window, I noticed that the windows lacked finishing trim, and upon further inspection, I saw that the entire restaurant was missing baseboard trim. One wall even had an electrical outlet jutting out onto the floor with conduit visible from the wall. The online photos are misleading and appear to be from the previous location, showcasing a colorful interior that doesn’t match the dull concrete gray and nearly bare decor of the current space. They also don’t have a liquor license yet, yet charged $7 for a non-alcoholic Corona. Be sure to double-check your bill before paying, as we found an extra entree had been added to ours. Overall, I'd say it's not worth the visit.

I've only tried their enfrijoladas and enchiladas so far, but they have consistently been excellent at this cheerful restaurant.

The service was prompt, and the food was absolutely delicious. The habanero sauce was perfect—just the right amount of heat without being too spicy.

Very good food. But the place is dirty and poorly managed and maintained. Even staff expressed frustration with the lack of efforts from the manager to finish their renovations and clean the place properly. To waste their good reputation with such negligence is sad. They were more cautious about their place when they opened their first restaurant on Montreal road. They should know that here, what you show at the front is a sign of how careful you are in the kitchen. I'll wait before going again. I was very disappointed by such neglect. Patrons eating on-site deserve just a little bit more care.

Love the food absolutely. Can the service be better, for sure! Recently went and the waitresses were pretty busy with the orders for pickup . But didnt even bother to come to our table until my wife went and asked for menu cards after 8 mins. There was 1 only other table occupied other than ours. After that it was smooth. Also, this is the second time we had an experience like this here. Would definitely appreciate better service.
