Bidra med feedbackCan you write an honest review at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow after plenty of beer? I assume it depends on what they remember and how many functioning brain cells they still have. most importantly, however, is that it is about what they personally appreciate when they come out and about the impressions and experiences they are looking for. this place was recommended to me several times, but somehow, during my extended stay in oslo, I never did it here. as I was already visiting my first, my assessment is only a "first reaction" type of review, as it is my firm conviction that they must visit a place in the regular several times to get an exact feeling of it. but some places immediately have their own, unambiguous signature, an atmosphere that feels familiar and unique at the same time. One of those places is a queen pub. the first thing I met were the casual and open people I met here, from the very attentive and intuitive bar tender/manager manolis, through the very diverse occupation of paraglider of all age groups, nations and walks of life, to the fantastic series of spontaneous musicians who in the jam, my night could not have been perfect. there is nothing better than live music in an intimate environment. Once they agree and talk to their colleagues, it begins to feel like their own 'home' party. personal, relaxed and yet accused of meeting new people for the first time. Of course, there is no doubt that alcohol has been distorted my judgment. but this is my point. there is a great difference between an unimaginable stench of a dream that they want to forget quickly, and a quality experience of music, friendly people and a comfortable stench that they know was worth it. Ultimately, all the experiences are subjectiv, but if they are looking for a place that is simultaneously known as typical pub and yet is associated with a view of the intimacy and the old rituals
Worst bar experience ever. Rude staff and even got served drinks with water. Just a disgraceful scam…
Can one write an honest review at 5:00 am in the morning after copious amounts of beer? I suppose it depends on what you remember, and how many functioning brain cells you still have. Most importantly, however, it is about what you, personally, value about going out and about the impressions and experiences you are looking for. This place was recommended to me several times, but somehow, during my extended stay in Oslo, I never made it here before. Also, since it was my first visit, my review is only a 'first reaction ' kind of review as it is my firm belief, that usually, you have to visit a place several times to get an accurate feeling of it. Yet, some places instantly have there own distinct signature, an atmosphere that feels simultaneously familiar and unique. Queens Pub is definitely one of those places. The first thing that struck me was the casual and open minded people I encountered here. From the very attentive and intuitive bar tender/manager Manolis, through the very diverse cast of patrons of all ages, nations, and walks of life, to the fantastic array of spontaneous musicians that joined in on the jam, my night couldn 't have been more perfect. There is nothing better than live music in an intimate setting. Once you settle in and start talking to your 'chance fellows ', it starts to feel like your very own 'at home ' party. Personal, relaxed and yet charged with a curiosity of meeting new people for the first time. Of course, there is no doubt that alcohol may have clouded my judgement. But that is kind of my point... There is a big difference between a mindless numbness of a weekend binge you wish to forget fast, and a quality experience of music, friendly people and a comfortable buzz you know was worth the hangover... perhaps over again. Ultimately all experiences are subjective, but if you are looking for a place that is simultaneously familiar as a 'typical pub ' and yet with an aspect of intimacy and inclusivity brought on by an age old ritual of the sharing of joy through music , come and participate.
Great pub. Wonderful service with a smile from a very helpful and polite English speaking Greek gentleman. Nice atmosphere/vibe. Pub would not look out of place in London due to the style of it. Was mainly locals
In an age of anonymous chrome-plated or fakey-old gastro-bars, it's nice to find an authentic old bar that still has a bit of character. Walking in was like walking back in time. Prices were ok for Oslo as well (so, expensive but not exorbitantly so)
