Tartan Tavern - Oshawa

Have been at this establishment several times. Love the Staff, friendly and always ready with a smile, Live Music is outstanding and quite a variety... The food is pub fare pretty much but well presented and good for the taste buds.. it is a nice fun place to spend an evening sharing drinks and a few laughs and listening to the live bands that's always on hand. The place have recently changed owners, but retains that old small town pub feel. Intend to be back time and time again...

So this little place was what we called our little hole in the fence. Service and food were amazing, we order the same thing every time and never had a complaint! Last night was our first time back since new management took over. And let's just start with the fast roasted potatoes aren't meant to be deep fried nor burnt! My dinner was not the same, I'm so upset we have to find a new hole in the fence. Between terrible food (that took 40 minutes, usually takes 20) and a waitress who was less then interested in being attentive, we sadly won't be returning.

Visited The Tartan Tavern with family for a pre Christmas lunch. Atmosphere reminded me of a popular pub back home. The server was very nice and helped us with our choices, especially the chocolate pecan caramel cheese cake, which was delicious. I had the lunch special, a Chicken Melt Sandwich which came with fries, salad or soup. I really enjoyed it and even brought half home for a later meal. My wife and aunt had the fish and chips. My wife said hers was only fair but her aunt seemed to enjoy hers. The fries and salads were good. Our friend had Shepherd's Pie and seemed to really enjoy it. So you can't please everyone. We heard that this place has very good musical groups that play here but we came in a bit too early. Not bad having a group starting at 4 PM. Wish we had stayed to hear them. There is also a pool table if you like to play the game. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here even though I have read a few bad reviews. Not sure what they ate or whether they had been having a bad day. Would come here again.

Great food.. Waitresses are friendly. Place was pretty crowded but always good when your enjoying a night out. Great music. Great location.. Very secure & cozy pub.

I truly do not understand how this establishment is still open. Service is something to be desired. Food is very lackluster. And the restaurant itself??? Hey the 80's called and wants it's style back....Good god people how about a little renovation to keep it up to date.
