Bidra med feedbackAfter not dining out for a long time due to Covid, we were excited to learn that the Tartan restaurant had reopened and decided to go for a meal. It is conveniently located within walking distance from our home, although a bit of a long walk. The restaurant is following Covid regulations diligently, with hand sanitizer available at the entrance and both staff and customers wearing masks until seated. The menu is limited and given on a disposable piece of paper, and condiment bottles are sanitized and brought in a sealed plastic bag. I tried the burger and found it to be absolutely delicious, possibly the best burger I've had in a while. The only issue was that the bun was too small for the burger and became messy, but it was still tasty. My husband tried the crab cakes and thought they were just okay. The restaurant was very clean, with charming flag-printed tables giving a British pub-like atmosphere. The service was excellent as always. We hope to return soon as long as Covid remains under control and customers continue to follow guidelines.
I visited this restaurant for the first time today and I would not return. The food was not good - the burger had no taste and was not cooked properly, and the fish and chips were cold and poorly cooked. I would recommend saving your money as there are much better places to eat in Oshawa. Overall, it was a waste of money and I felt sick after eating there.
We decided to try out TT because a friend's band was performing there that night. We made a reservation in the afternoon and when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find a great table for dinner and another table reserved for us in the back room for the show. The wait staff was amazing, even in the loud and crowded environment. Two of my companions thought the food was average - one had a cheeseburger and the other had fish and chips. I tried the Scotch Pie and Peas, which was delicious and served hot. The only downside was that they served a generic cola instead of Coke, which was disappointing. It's also a good idea to call ahead and check if it's Karaoke night, as it can be distracting if you're not into singing or drinking. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at TT.
Dixieland band was great! Round one of wings were black and burnt, literally burnt round two were somewhat better but still overdone. I understand that a mistake can happen, but, we were told the chef is new and they screwed up the breading. What bothers me the most is that we were made to look like we are the problem and expected to understand that the cook is new and to eat the over cooked wings with no complaints! They grudgingly, did not charge us for the wings, but an apology was not heard, only excuses.
Came for a paint nite in November. The place doesnt look like it has had any changes since the 80's. The only saving grace was the beer was cold and served friendly. We started by having a meal in the front of the restaurant. It was really cold were we were and my daughter was feeling the window area to see if this is where the cold was coming from and the windows was loose, literally swinging. We told the server and she said oh ya be careful someone got cut doing that???? Maybe it should be fixed??? It desperately needs a makeover. It is so dirty looking and feeling. The bathroom was nasty too. Food was just alright.
