Bidra med feedbackMy party of 3 visited Mandarin Oshawa for the lunch buffet. The food was great and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and served us well, especially Heidi and Sharon. The location is good, easily accessible and has a huge parking lot.
So tasty and delicious — everything was fresh with platters kept full. Really enjoyed the shrimp and sashimi. Even the crème caramel and bread pudding were yummy.
The food was great as usual, but the staff were VERY POOR. We were there on Dec. 29/22 at 6:30 p.m. and had to wait 30 min, to get in, no problem until seated. We noticed that quite a few rooms only were half full but the room we were placed in was packed almost full. WHY. The one waitress that we had should be in the back kitchen as were attitude was VERY POOR. We were handed our warm wash clothes first of all, then a family of 4 came in next to us, non white, and she just reached over and dropped the clothes in the middle of the table. Tried to talk to her to get the bill, and she was as clueless as the snow out side.

We came here to celebrate our son's birthday. The restaurant has a good variety of fresh food options available, although we were disappointed that they no longer offer crab legs like they did before COVID. The buffet was constantly replenished, but we missed having bottles of soy sauce on the table - now they only provide a few packets, which was not enough for a buffet. It took a while for them to bring the soy sauce as well. We ordered drinks, which were excellent. The prices have gone up, but the quality is still high, so we didn't mind paying a bit extra. We will definitely return for special occasions, as the price increase makes it hard to justify going just for fun. Overall, the food and service were great, but due to these minor issues, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
