I love Poppyseed Bagels and they had them. Unfortunately, this situation has no peanut butter. I had to go next to Big Lots to get something. When I came to my roasted bagel, it was cooled and hardened. Apart from that, it was a delicious breakfast.
This restaurant specializes in NY-style bagels, but I assumed that would extend to their egg sandwiches as well. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. I ordered two sandwiches: the first was a sausage, egg, and cheese on a poppy seed bagel with ketchup, salt, and pepper; the second was topped with bacon and cheese on a whole bagel with butter, salt, and pepper. What I received was a sad imitation of a proper sandwich, resembling the overly dry egg from a McDonald's Egg McMuffin, accompanied by what seemed like dried lizard instead of proper meat. The condiments were missing and not provided for us to add later. Everything was incredibly dry and bland. I have to wonder if the owner has ever been to New York.
When we got to the front to check out, we received our bagels, and my friend realized she wanted a bit more cream cheese. Asking for additional cream cheese at a bagel shop seems reasonable to me. The employee who handed us the bag went to grab the extra cream cheese but asked the astonished employee (the one who couldn’t handle the customization request) for it. In response, she exclaimed, "ON THE SIDE??" and dramatically rolled her eyes in the most disrespectful way possible. The only staff member who showed us any kindness was the older woman at the register. Overall, I can only recommend this place if you’re looking to have your day ruined.
Bagels were excellent! We ended up going 2 days in a row for breakfast. My kid even ate a blueberry bagel and he's never eaten bagels before! If I'm ever back in town I'd go again without a doubt.
