Bidra med feedbackWe were in the dollhouse initially, it was not warm enough for our baby, so we are able to change rooms to a beautiful lake view terrace room. The place could sign where the room numbers are. A little disorganized as the rooms are different owners like the café and the bar. Would you like to stay in the terrace unit, nice and secret
Amazing view! Clean, comfortable and perfect in stock for all our needs. I'm glad we were here!
Check-in was a breeze, and the location is absolutely stunning! Although the pool was closed, they kindly allowed our group to use the pool and hot tub, which felt like a slice of paradise. However, the accommodations could use a bit of attention to detail, as there are many small aspects that could be improved to truly showcase their potential. It would also be helpful if the website included the hours for dining, shopping, and pool access; we were taken aback to find nothing open upon our arrival. I would recommend this place, but only if they address some of the maintenance issues—small upgrades could make a significant difference. Unfortunately, the queen bed was uncomfortable, and we woke up early because of it. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but we’ll look for a larger space next time. It really is a hidden gem!
The room had issues with insects (including webs) and the water from the shower head and sink smelled strongly of rust. The lamp was broken and in poor condition. We found a wet, used towel when we arrived. Don’t set your expectations too high for the $165/night price point. The only positive aspect was the lake.
A significant disappointment was our boat slip reservation. When we arrived, another boat was occupying our assigned slip. Although I was assured the other boat would move so we could dock, it never did. We were offered alternative arrangements, but we decided not to take them. Mike, the contact for the slip reservation, promised a refund, but I have not yet received it. Portage Point Resort is a lovely place, but it seems there is still much work to be done to elevate it to a top-notch resort. Comparisons to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, which I have visited several times, seem quite off the mark. The resort has potential, and I hope it will reach it in the future. This was on my bucket list, and while I wasn't entirely disappointed, there were aspects that could definitely have been improved.
