David Reay's Modern Diner Tavern

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and is very clean, with attentive employees. However, I’m giving it three stars for a specific reason. My daughter ordered the “Comfort Bowl” from the specials menu, which included a bread bowl filled with mashed potatoes, and your choice of breaded or grilled chicken, topped with brown beef gravy. I found it to be quite unusual and rather underwhelming. It did come with a side, but that didn’t salvage the experience. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with added pulled pork, which was served with a simple piece of toast cut into four squares and butter—definitely not garlic bread. I’m willing to give this restaurant another chance since they have an extensive selection of sandwiches and hamburgers. Perhaps this was just an off night for them. Prices range from $8.00 to $15.00.

David Reay's was simply AMAZING last weekend for our wedding dinner with family. The ambiance was elegant, the service was impeccable, and the food was delightful. A big thank you to Ryan and the entire staff for their help in coordinating such a perfect experience. My wife and I highly recommend this place not only for a meal but also for any event or dinner party you may be planning.

The hostess informed us that there would be a 20-minute wait for a table and a subsequent 40-minute wait for our meal. Instead, we opted to sit at the bar. Unfortunately, the hostess's estimate was off; we ended up waiting over 50 minutes for our food. Throughout our visit, we noticed the bartender was working hard and moving quickly. It was clear the restaurant was short-staffed, as many tables and booths remained empty. I was not a fan of my side of mashed potatoes, but aside from that and the long wait, it was a pleasant experience overall. The drink menu is extensive, there are TVs on either side of the bar, shaded seating on the patio, and the restrooms were clean. Keep in mind that parking is on the side street, so be prepared for parallel parking.

We waited an hour for our food, and when we spoke to the manager, we were met with a negative attitude.

Sam, our waiter, did an excellent job. He was friendly and offered great suggestions. The food came out quickly and was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant!
