We thought we would walk over from our home for a nice patio lunch. Not so nice. Service was deplorable. Food was so so. I know golf course food is usually so so but service is usually pretty good. Young staff looking for tips is usually the driver. This was not a good experience.
I always earn brownie points with the misses when I take her to The Ridge House. They have the best salmon I've had in a long time. Always good if you want to get away from Calgary prices.
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at this restaurant and it was absolutely perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our special day. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at this restaurant.
We have been residents of the area for 20 years. Initially, The Ridgehouse was a favorite of ours, but when the chef departed, the quality declined and we stopped visiting. Approximately 2 years ago, the chef returned and the restaurant once again became outstanding. Dave, our server, was always amazing and it was pleasant to see him each time. We decided to dine at The Ridgehouse for our 32nd anniversary today (May 18th) and unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. The dish I ordered, which had previously been exceptional, was disappointing this time. Dave is no longer there, and the new server, although friendly, has a lot of room for improvement. When he simply places the pepper mill on the table and says "help yourself", it is concerning. To make matters worse, my husband found not just one, but two hairs in his food! The first hair could have possibly been from his mustache, but the second hair, measuring 7 inches in length, could not have been from either of us, causing a strong feeling of disgust. The restaurant removed his meal from the bill, which was the least they could do. However, it is unlikely that we will be returning anytime soon. It is a shame, as The Ridgehouse used to be a nice, quiet spot for a good meal with a pleasant atmosphere and no crowds. Perhaps in a couple of years, we may consider giving it another try, if we are still living in the area.
