Very good service in a very clean restaurant. Very high quality food served lovingly on the plate. We felt very comfortable there and spent a nice evening. A strong praise for the entire staff including chef. We are happy to visit the Erzgebirgsstube again. Sure. Thank you.
After a bad eating - can not say eat because it was something else than experience in my hotel, I was looking for a restaurant where I felt that I could have a good meal in a comfortable environment, and trip advisor led me to the erzgebirge in...Best western maple hotel oberwiesenthal. I must admit that I was drawn here through the reports about trip advisor and the photos of the “stube”. it looked like the place I expected in oberwiesenthal and the mountain range. during the day I searched and found the erzgebirgestube, and it fulfilled my visual expectations of the photos on trip advisor. I returned in the evening and must admit to being away by finding the restaurant completely empty! while the best western maple hotel seems like a fairly large hotel, this restaurant has no diners, and empty restaurants are in the regular signs of a bad restaurant. I am gone and I report that the Erzgebirgestube is not a bad restaurant. as a lonely diner, at least the first, I had my choice of table, and there was the opportunity to make some photos unhindered by employees or other mices. this also allowed me to linger and book over my glass sect, without the need to annoy the flow of the service for me or other. in the course of time came two couples, and they were followed by two businessmen, so by the course of my dinner the restaurant remained quite empty. for those who follow my TA reports, they know that I have a penchant for game dishes when I am in Europe, so tonight I have selected the venison roast in burgander sauce with wrapped eggs and pear red cabbage, but not before I decided to take the kűrbissuppe (pumpkinsuppe) as an appetizer, and how they can see them from the photo, it was also cut. the venison was a wonderful presentation with loads of burgander sauce, which covers the plentiful portions of venison, and I must admit that the wound balls – like rolled dumplings – were new to me, but still delicious. the red cabbage is a “must have” for venison, and this, while a little on the small side, was a great addition to the venison and rolling dumple. Although I was in a very decorative and relatiw empty “room”, I was very satisfied with the service, the presentation of food, and above all the taste of food. and, without saying, that was a huge, really great improvement, what I had to eat in the last night in my hotel. If I ever wanted to return to oberwiesenthal, I would definitely say for the stay at the best western ahorn hotel oberwiesenthal because of the Erzgebirgestube.
