Ranee's Roti - Oakville

Some of the top goat roti i ever tasted. Melts in your mouth. People complaining about lack of curry taste, jerk chicken issues or store bought patties dont know much about West Indian food. The tame usage of curry is a cultural thing. If you want a strong curry taste, get a roti or dosa at an east Indian place that serves food from India. This restaurant is really a Trinidadian spot. Personally , i love the West Indy/Caribbean take on curry dishes more then East Indian. And since this is a trini place, you cant expect their Jerk or patties, which are Jamaican dishes, to be what they are known for. Im sure they include it because the market asks for it and not because its something they have expertise in. Its a Trini spin on it as well. And Jamaican patties are 90% store bought from the 2 or 3 main bakeries in GTA. Very few make their own from scratch. I live downtown TO and wish there was a Trini Roti spot closer i could indulge in. All the decent ones are long gone.

Ranee and the team always take great care of us when we go in. The food is always excellent and the portion size is fantastic!

I was thoroughly disappointed in the food. My husband ordered 2 curry goat roti. The flavour was, well let’s just say there wasn’t much if not any. It’s pretty bad when you go home and have to add your own curry to give it some taste. Not only that but the portions were nothing in comparison to other places. We had been before and it was decent, but this time around has made us never want to go back.

I just moved to Burlington and tried their Rotis and doubles I'm NOT going to sure coat this like these fake reviews. I should have taken a hint as nobody was inside except myself one of the worst I've tasted in a while their curry has no flavor no spice and leaves a weird taste in your mouth had to brush my teeth right away put the food in the trash after couple bites...miss the GTA Roti shops wish their was a good one around the Halton/Hamilton area. This ain't it!!!! Save your money!!!

I genuinely dislike giving negative reviews, especially to small businesses, especially during these times, but I really had to do this!I ordered a large plate OXtail, with rice, and this is what I got. Take a look at the picture. The whole plate was filled with just rice and curried potatoes, and a small square in the corner had literally 3-4 very small pieces of OXtail with barely any meat. Now, I 'm not trying to sound cheap, but this was ridiculous, esp when they are charging $21.5 for this plate. Although I felt weird, I still immediately called them and let them know, and the lady said to me, what do you want me to do? We 're going to close soon, that 's basically how much you get ! She then went on to say, you can come by next time and mention it to us, and we 'll see what we can do . I 'm not looking for a handout over here. She didn 't realize that she is literally ruining someone 's dinner. I would definitely not recommend anybody to ever get this from this place!
