Souvlakibar Oakton

The customer service is neither here nor there. It feels like fast food but it tastes amazing. I had the chickpea fritter with chicken. Yum!

My first visit to Souvlakibar was Tuesday, April 19, 2022. No gyros offered, which was my motivation for coming reading on Souvlakibar website that they had gyro. Beef souvlaki I ordered was dry and flavorless. Pita bread it came on did not have a pocket, was thick and interior was spongy. It did not look or taste like any pita bread I have ever had. It was more like naan than pita. Baklava was also dry and top layer of filo burned not having even a hint of butter drizzled

The Mateo meat is good but the gyro in general was extremely dry. Got it through Uber eats but not sure that should matter. Needed double the tzatziki at least to be good enough.

The Chicago gyro and Souvlaki bowls are SO good. I like their thick, creamy hummus and taste of the food.. it's exactly what I want in a pita, tzatziki, meat... I add lettuce on mine too. If you're vegetarian they have great bowls without meat. Great portion sizes. Strong work ethic from staff...super clean ever time we go.

I loved it! had a great Greek family celebration. ordered several family dishes and everyone thoroughly enjoyed eating. it was all nicely packed and ready to serve. it will definitely diffamate again.
