The Mushy Pea Stall - Norwich

Every year when we visit Norwich, my wife always goes straight to the Mushy Peas stall. The peas are not too thick or too runny, just the perfect pot of steaming hot peas with mint sauce. The lady working at the stall is also very lovely. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in town.

The peas were not mushy, they arrived whole and I had to squish them with my fingers. This caused them to be very greasy and dirty. I do not recommend them. My wife was not impressed when we got home. However, overall the meal was very delicious.

The peas sold here are not really Northern mushy peas (I think the stall has rebranded itself). They are traditional Norfolk hot peas and so much the better for that. Served in a bowl and in the liquor in which they are cooked they are delicious. Have them with pies if you like but I always have them on their own whenever I'm in Norwich.

Friendly, relaxed, nutrious (perfect balance of protein carbs). Can't wait for the mashed potatoes!

Tried the peas whilst in Norwich the other day. Not a pleasant taste probably an acquired taste. Would not visit again. Stall was busy but I do believe they are an acquired taste.
