The Royal Oak Gastro Pub

We popped in for a quick dinner tonight as many places in Nottingham and Derby were closed. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. The venue is clean (including the important toilets), new, and traditional with modern touches. The staff is friendly and attentive. The background music adds to a relaxing atmosphere. The food is excellent and competitively priced, even cheap for the quality offered. Everything is delicious and fresh. The seared cod with samphire was one of the best my wife has had in a long time. The kids menu was generous and affordable. Although we didn't stay in the rooms, we wouldn't hesitate to book in the future after trying their restaurant. We have saved The Royal Oak on Google Maps and will definitely return when in the area. Food and drinks were fresh, well-portioned, nicely presented, affordable, and great overall.

My wife, good friends, and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant on September 23rd, 2015. The atmosphere and service were outstanding, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this place, as rated by Luke Davis-Keogh. Rooms: 5, Service: 5, Location: 5.

I visited this restaurant for lunch and was impressed with the quality of the food. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making for a pleasant dining experience. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. I would rate the service and location both as a 4 out of 5.

Was there to celebrate a wedding, lovely food and atmosphere, first class. Rooms: Didn't stay but saw a couple of rooms, very acceptable. Hotel highlights: Great value

We stayed the night, the room was spacious and clean, the shower was good. A decent hairdryer in the room was a bonus according to my partner. We ate there in the evening the food was fantastic and the staff were great, I only suggest booking a table when you book the room as we were there on a Tuesday and they were busy had to wait an hour for a table, but it was well worth the wait, just had a drink while we waited. The breakfast in the morning was lovely too poached eggs were perfect and good quality sausage and bacon
