Bidra med feedbackEverything was great; Prime rib, salmon, seafood cahowder, peach crispy dessert. They were really on a feast, so hungry! In retrospect, we would have skipped the Chowder because the rest of the meal was a lot of food, but excellent. It was good... the 30-minute drive from Charlottetown to enjoy the food here.
The food is indeed excellent, we had beautiful salmon and chicken dishes, well prepared, beautiful vegetables, all served very hot. Soup was also very good, cured cream of the mushroom, as our dessert, blueberry bread pudding we shared. Good value for money also: 2 drinks,... soup, main course, dessert, coffee, came to $105 before tax. Reception needs work, but, and was quite unpleasant. At first they couldn't find our reservation, finally found out that it was under my first name, at what time the host Well said that "we just have to do for tonight! We arrived 7 minutes before our reservation, but the hostess, who repeatedly call my wife and me, had to point out that they would put us, but would not serve us until our time. Really? Seven minutes? That makes a bad impression. Why in the world? Then the waitress, who was otherwise very pleasant and efficient, had to tell us twice that our table was booked for a later time; we had just got there, but we felt hurried and I said so much. It is regrettable, really, but the social abomination of some employees really takes away from what is, otherwise, a great culinary experience. The room is beautiful; older house, wooden floors, high ceiling and beautiful view of the river Clyde, with Herons very busy eating it is all quite charming. Rating would be 5 out of 5, but inconveniences with hurdles, crushed reservation, and repeatedly called You guys take a peg downstairs.
Wonderful. Delicious food. Attention, unhurried service. Beautiful view of the river, many interesting colors as the sun became deeper. We had crabcakes and chicken bacon bags for appetizers. Both came sharp, clear from the pan. Ribs with Mac and...Coast: ribs were perfect, not too juicy; Mac and cheese (big part! had a perfectly crispy bread crust; came with a generous mixed green salad. The Shine martini river, made with rhubarb juice, is lovely. And, very recommend the Moth Lane red ale.
Get the crabs. Although it is only an appetizer size, it is very filling and it is delicious. We also got the salmon (fish special) that had Thai season. Also delicious. .
We had a very enjoyable evening at the Mill; it was a busy evening, so we had a late sitting and were seated in the upstairs space, which carries a bit of nostalgic ambiance expected with an old mill structure, with exposed beams and wood...floors. We were seated by one of the few windows upstairs, so had a good view of the Clyde River and the gardens opposite (other interior tables in the upstairs space would not have the benefit of the view the downstairs space has much more, larger windows, so more views for that space consider that if making a reservation). We had a full meal of appetizers and mains, with a cocktail and wine. The Mediterranean chowder was excellent, as were the crab cakes. We both had the fish special, which was haddock. The fish was just a touch on the dry side, but still very tasty. The house made cocktail (with local rhubarb juice) was good. Service was friendly, though a little on the slow side not sure if that's because of how busy they were on the main floor. We were among the last diners, but never felt rushed to leave. Overall, a very good dining experience, especially the quality of the food. We'd return.
