Lucky Star Chinese Take Away

From placing my order it took precisely 2 hours for it to arrive, having initially being told it would take 35 minutes. When the meal finally arrived it was stone cold not good enough sadly. I won't be using Lucky Star again.

Firstly, this place has a food hygiene rating of 2 and clearly since this no improvements have been made. I have watched the “manager”/owner smoke cigarettes in the kitchen while preparing food. Furthermore customers very regularly receive food up to 3 hours late, and this is further supported by Lucky Star’s reviews on Just Eat.(very rarely are refunds given) The food is absolutely appalling and the place itself is falling apart. I would urge people to stay very clear of this disgusting restaurant!

Ordered our food at 7pm- were told it would be delivered for 8.15pm.... well, it’s now 11.10pm, still no sign of the food every time we call they say that the food is on its way. After reading the reviews after I had already ordered, i was sh*ting myself. The food arrived within 5 minutes of the time stated, it was piping hot, looked good, what needed to be crispy was, we ordered for two, there was enough for three. Both of us enjoyed the dishes and look forward to using them again in the future.

Myself and my partner decided we would order a takeaway from here on a Friday evening after having ordered successfully many times before. We placed the order at 7:20 and were told it would arrive around 8:30. 9pm soon came around and no found was here. After ringing 3 times we finally got an answer and were told our food was not with the delivery driver and it was left on the side in the kitchen. after waiting a further 20 minutes the food arrived. Surpisingly the food was too hot too touch. Considering it had been left on the side for a while it was unbelievably hot. The chicken balls and chips were not crunchy but instead soggy tasting like they had been reheated in the microwave. Was left very disappointed after having such positive experiences in the past!
