El Toro - North Kesteven

Great spot for fantastic authentic Spanish tapas! The food was really tasty made with quality ingredients. Nikki and her team provided top class service. Long story short my wife cannot eat certain foods due to IBS. Nikki was able to tweak many dishes so that my wife could enjoy the meal. Both my wife and I throughly enjoyed the food, took us back to Spain! The Gambas Pil Pil is a must as are the cocktails! The setting is also nicely decorated with good music playing, no doubt a great atmosphere later on in the evening.

I wandered back in after a quite dreary meeting about town planning (and to be fair after about 3 years) and well... Not a lot has changed. The staff are all wonderful, the cocktails are as they should be and then there's the food. I went with 3 plates of tapas because Thursday and I was blown away. The blue-cheese potatoes were spot on, the pork skewers were spiced but not spicy (and oh so tender) but the anchovies. Oh lordy the anchovies. I think that I have a new favourite food. Thankyou.

This restaurant is fantastic. You need to go there to truly appreciate it. The food is authentic and expertly prepared. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable.

We were invited to a party about an hours drive from home so we stayed overnight in a BfB. Looking for pre dinner cocktails online we discovered this gem. Upon closer inspection of their website we decided to eat there as well Good Choice We booked a table by email and said we would have cocktails first. Upon arriving( it’s right in centre of town) we were welcomed with a friendly smile. After being shown to some lovely leather Chesterfields we ordered cocktails. They were very very good. No rush to move us to our dining table thankfully. We do like to take our pre dinner drinks before going to dining room. So 5 stars to them then. Tapas was excellent. We then went to our party very pleased with our find. Later towards the end of the evening we fancied a nightcap so returned to El Toro. Again we we’re welcomed and a few of the staff remembered us from earlier that evening. Nightcaps downed we called it a day. One of the best establishments we’ve been to. Just a shame for us it’s an hours drive away. It’s often said that it’s the little things that are important. Well I have to say for us the friendliness of the welcome the staff gave us and the service they provided were excellent and not little things to us May be little to some but important to us and they did not disappoint.
