Bidra med feedbackReturning to Tassie to see family this was a highlight of our trip and the best dining experience I have shared with my family in a very long time. The food was divine, everyone's meals were cooked to perfection, fresh and fabulous flavours too. The wine selection was perfect for the menu and the attentive service made the night memorable. A must do if staying in Hobart.
Wow...12 months on and I visited this lovely resturant again...great octopus and juicy flavoursome lamb....both generous sizes portions. This place has a lovely, caring feel about it with sensational flavoursome food. Can't wait to come back.
We went for a wander down Elizabeth Street to find some pub grub, but ended up in this amazing little family run restaurant with food you could taste and enjoy, great entertainment and a great atmosphere. It was a perfect meal to finish a day of touring.
Had the duck special. Was advertised for two. Could easily feed 4! Fantastic flavours! Service was brilliant. Will visit again next time in Hobart!
It was our first night in North Hobart after a long eventful day of getting lost on Bruny Island and JUST making the last ferry back to mainland. It was a cold night and we were tired and ravenous. It must've been around 9pm as we went from restaurant to pub to cafe seeking out a nice meal to have as a bit of a celebration of our trip together and to satiate our hunger. Time after time, place after place, we were to be greeted with "kitchen's closed". Defeated, we almost resorted to getting a kebab until we spotted a little Mediterranean restaurant next to 'Kebab Rehab' and seeing many people still having a good time in there, we thought we'd give it one last go. We were admitted and seated and surprised as we noticed an imprint on the front of the menu that read something along the lines of 'kitchen closes at 8:30pm'. Our delicious hearty asparagus soups came after some time (we thought we'd order the quickest thing on the menu) and the lady-owner apologises for the time the meal has taken to be served as they were baking us fresh bread. Sure enough, she brings out a basket of hot bread, pillow-y insides encased in a layer of crisp. We ate quickly as we were the last ones left in the restaurant and it was around 10pm. We thanked the owner profusely and she sat us back down after we'd pay to serve us a panna cotta with raspberry coulis.There is a story behind this gesture of kindness: "When we arrived after long flights from Turkey many years ago, we had to eat bread and cheese from the supermarket because no where was open. From then on, my husband, he said "we will never turn anyone away when we own a restaurant". They have stayed true to their word. This review goes beyond the dedication of Anatolia to their food but also recounts an act of human compassion that we lack these days. A highlight of my first trip to Hobart for sure!
