Bidra med feedbackWhat I love about Martin's menu is the simplicity of it-they're a no-frills, good food for cheap, type of establishment with rock bottom prices and generous portions that'll seriously blow your mind! Since I can't pass up a good chicken biscuit when I see it on the menu, I immediately knew I had to order one along with a side of sausage gravy. Starting with the chicken biscuit, the fried chicken was light, crispy and deliciously moist. The breading to meat ratio was perfect and I particularly appreciated the fact that their chicken had more meat than it did breading, which is certainly noticeable as you take the first bite. Additionally, the biscuit was airy and fluffy, which paired well with the juicy chicken.
At the corner of Buford Highway and Jimmy Carter Boulevard, amid empty warehouses, mass storage units, hardware supply stores, sign makers, and auto centers sits Martin’s Fresh Tastes Best. Martin’s has 15 locations scattered though the Atlanta suburbs and, by all accounts, should be just awful. Martin’s blue and white decor reminds me of a northern chain called Culvers, and if you ever have the opportunity to eat a Culver’s Butterburger with a side of Frozen Custard, I suggest you size that opportunity. The interior of Martin’s reminds me of a living room that is kept really clean but needs a little updating. The low hung wood ceiling tiles and wood paneling, while quite unique, speaks to a different time and makes one thing the food will be outdated as well. We arrived around 9 a.m. on a Saturday and the place was buzzing with activity. A steady stream of customers and the bustle of active employees promised fresh food, fast. Martin’s menu is simple – a biscuit with a protein sandwiched inside. You can also get hash browns, grits, and sausage gravy on the side. This place felt like a McDonalds if McDonalds gave a **** about taste, food quality, customer service, or really anything anymore. I tried a Sausage Biscuit and a Chicken Biscuit. The biscuits are delicious and obviously made fresh every morning – while rather dense not flakey like a lot of Southern biscuits that I like, they are soft and buttery. The sausage patty was small, boring, and under-seasoned – I like sausage with a nice spicy kick behind it. The chicken biscuit might be my new fast food indulgence. The chicken was moist but not greasy with a nice thin peppery breading around it. Sometimes, a breaded chicken surrounded by a biscuit can come off way too starchy, but not here. I don’t like fast food eggs, they always taste like wet rubber, but I did try my wife’s bacon and egg biscuit and it was pretty damn delicious. The bacon was tasty and not cooked like tree bark. The eggs tasted like
If your looking for some fast, but home cooked style breakfast; get your butt over to Martin 's pronto. It 's fast food persay, but it 's very sitdown styled. Big biscuts and actual scrambled eggs. I get either the sausge egg and cheese biscuts or the sausage gravy an biscut. Very good stuff, better than chick-fil-a breakfast in my opinion and it 's cheaper! Just ask for 'lite ' ice in your drink cause they cram your cup full of crushed ice when asking for water. I swear it 's 90% ice haha.. But overall, very good food
Great fast breakfast biscuits. I have been eating both here and at other locations for over 20 years. Their biscuits are excellent and available in small or large. I think the biscuit is the same size, they just add more meat, cheese, etc. My favorites are the Tenderloin, Smoked Sausage and biscuit and gravy. Breakfast is served all day until they close, which I think is at 3PM for most locations. You will never want McDonald's or the other fast food breakfast places again. They also have hamburgers, fries and sandwiches, but I haven't had those.
This was my first time trying Martin’s, but I had always heard great things about the food. I have to say, I was quite pleased with my chicken filet biscuit! The eggs were pretty good too just a bit plain, but still yummy. The customer service was excellent as well!!!!
