Bidra med feedbackOur first night staying we went to the bar for happy hour which kicked off at 4.30pm. $5 for a beer and (I think) $10 for a cocktail. Nice view of the main beach. About 6pm we decided to have dinner. Not a big choice but very nice meals when they came out. Its not often we dine like this but it was different and thats what going out is all about, otherwise we would stay at home. I would come back to the restaurant.
This restaurant has a limited menu, but what they offer, they do brilliantly! The staff are friendly and helpful. The Rib eye steak was quite a hit with my family. I would suggest starting off your evening with a cocktail from the bar.
Sunday evening anniversary dinner. Food and service was wonderful. Young musician was excellent. Well done. A lovely evening.
1. A seasonal menu should be a must for somewhere that half their selected dishes are cold. Who in winter would like to enjoy a cold dinner when your already sitting in the cold open air with only heaters to keep you warm. Not many I would assume. 2. It took 40 minutes for our meals to be served and when it was I was highly disgusted. the lack of attention and care to how the food was prepared was evident. The grilled king ora salmon that I was served "medium rare" had clearly been pre -cooked and sitting under a heat lamp for a little more than just several moments as the skin was like eating leather that I had remove it, the fish was dry and another clear indication that it was over done was the white albumin being visible. 3. Now I also understand the need for mise en place. But what a guest should never have to go through is over steamed and cold vegetables that were basically is nicer terms mush on my and my partners plates. Honestly if you can't freshly steam broccoli and asparagus for 5 minutes then your obviously doing something wrong. So all in all the best and only good thing about the view restaurant and bar would have to be the watermelon and lychee martini.
Myself and 8 girlfriends celebrated my 70th birthday at the View, and it was great. We all had the "Local" specials which consisted of 2 courses with a $5 drink of choice (wines). Food was good, and tasty, presentation very good. Attention to filling glasses both water and wine could not be better. We were well attended too. Was given a complementary bubbles and dessert, which was very much appreciated. Special thanks go to Craig, Sonia and all other staff. Ambience was great, and will definitely go there again. Thank you to all, and we will be back!!!
