Cafe du Palais - Nice

We had a short break in this caffe after we explore cours saleya close to. we were tired, exhausted and this place was the most convenient in terms of location and availability. but the service was sloppy (to reach the height of rest). eating was tasteless and the overall experience was a bit boring. apart from its central location, this caffe offers nothing remarkable

What a fabulous experience. greeted by the host and the waiter was fantastique renewed my believe in standing and hospitable will come back

We found this wonderful litte cafe just across from the Palais du Justice. At first, we were a bit ambivalent as we typically find cafes located in public squares don't have the best food or service. Not the case here! The first day we stopped...in for moules frites and I have to say they were wonderfull! Extremely tasty but small mussels in a delicate cream sauce but lots of them! My wife and I shared a bowl and we were quite satisfied at the end of the meal. Also, for a cafe in a public square the service was fantastic! The waiters were very responsive, spoke English (and even understood my poor french! , and even remembered our preferences from day to day! I was quite impressed! Their Petit Dejeuner American is large and tasty and has everything you want in an American breakfast. Pastas were ample and well prepared. We ate here 3 or 4 times during our stay and would have no problem recommending this place to visitors to Nice!

After walking around for a while in the old town, decided to find some where to eat, as the café next door was empty decided to give it a miss and took a seat in the Café du Palais. Service was quick, but the attitude...of the server was abrupt for some reason! I opted for the Croque Monsieur, which was ok, would have been better if I didn't have to find someone for the Mayo. The café was busy but that's what you would expect, so don't know why the staff had some attitude?

This cafe has a nice terrace, where we eat once every time we are in Nice. We always order the bruschetta. We tried al bruschetta's of the menu and we love them all. At night we sit here and drink cocktails. The staff is very nice. The owner looks less friendly. Bossing his staff around while he just stands there and smokes sigarettes.
