Bidra med feedbackIt's been here forever, it even burned down once! The salad is their signature dish but there are much better items on the menu. Ho Sum is always my Tuesday night choice. The staff are friendly but recently there was some confusion when members of my group paid separately, causing bills to be swapped when we paid in different cards and cash. Someone else ended up paying for a much less expensive meal in cash while I paid for theirs on the card and the waiter pocketed the cash difference. It was obvious, it was theft and it was fixed. After 15 years of attendance I won't be back for that specific reason,no matter how good the mu shu is.
Spicy pear margaritas were great and the dim sum was delicious! Califoriental food at its best!
Sesame chicken salad has a better dressing than chicken salad Ho Sum. But the Ho-Sum salad has better ingredients. So I recommend getting the combination salad. The hot kitchen works much more slowly than the cold kitchen, so I highly recommend starting with a salad first, and feel free to order everything at once, because the hot items come after the cold items. Also get one side of Sesam Dressing because it goes great with everything from salad wraps to the dumplings. The salads are huge, half a salad could easily feed 3 to 4 people. During full size salad feeds 6 to 8 people! The soups are also beautiful. The hot and sour soup is great. The miraculous soup has a beautiful rich broth and comes with the softly cooked chicken dumplings, which are also available as a Dim Sum. I love the red sauce that comes with the Poached Wrapped Wontons (which is really dimsum soft cooked chicken dumplings), and it is only mild spicy. The snakes have the same large chicken filling inside, but are just another form. The chicken potters are good, while the shrimp potters are average. The Ho Sum dumplings are only average and have something from a Greek taste to them with the jagged herbal sauce. The combination of fried rice is a little tasteless and needs soy sauce. The Lo Mein noodles are also somewhat tasteless, but are improved by asking for one side of the Ho Sum BBQ sauce, which is actually their homemade version of the Asian Hoisin sauce. By the way, this place is very loud. It is a small place, but the sound jumps from the walls in a great way.
Stopped in while walking by for happy hour. I had some dumplings that were tasty and a glass for wine for a special deal. They also had a chopped salad that looked very good and they kindly gave me a little sample.l and it indeed tasty. The place looked like it was a local favorite with plenty of people coming and going and getting take out.
Obsessed with this place and can't wait to go back!!! The ho sum salad is to die for and that's only a half order so can't imagine what a full order looks like!! And only salad I've met that tastes even better the next day..dressing on and all.. fried rice probably one of the best I had..chicken schuwein amazinngg as well as the dumplings...literally cannot wait to go back to get the other half of the menu..can't forgot about the pork Lo mein..SO GOOD!!!
