Really good old school delivery restaurant. Really quick, charming service and food was good. Fab old style pancake roll, lovely salt and chilli squid, Singapore noodles and toban aubergine. Prawn dishes a bit gloppy for us, but they do a good ginger and spring onion fish, if you ask. Nice one thanks, Chan 's.

Quality and customer service compromised. We visited this place again. Used to have very good customer service and nice tasting food. No more sit due to COVID. Food has doubled in price and much focused on delivery services and walk-in customers. Won’t be visiting again. This is a legendary east end restuarant that has lost its focus and culture. Big shame.

Best Chinese in East Ham! It’s also the oldest. The food’s delicious and service is friendly. It has become our family Friday treat and boy, their food delivers. Highly recommended! The restaurant comes with a lot of history (since 1941) and hope they survive the covid pandemic. If there’s a dish you would like and it’s not listed in the online menu, call them. Stephen’s super friendly and will let you know if they can accommodate your request.

We ordered £53 of food for delivery from Chan’s own website to celebrate my birthday (not a big one but a prime number! . Website functionality ok till at v end it tells you of possible delivery charge and then its cash only, plus it might take 90 mins to arrive (in the end it was 60 -phew but small mercies Food was pretty awful: chow mein dishes seemed to be hydrated noodles with gloopy sauce poured over, no other flavour, no frying of any ingredients; lemon chicken bland; mixed veg again bland gloopy; prawns chewy/badly defrosted?; a tofu dish was just about edible. If we were in the restaurant, I would have left down money for any drinks walked out, leaving my number. Surprised as most online reviews good. Will stick in future to excellent Great Wall takeaway at Redbridge.

I read the great reviews and was really looking forward to my take away, however I was very disappointed. I ordered mixed seafood in black bean sauce, and it only had a few pieces of squid and a few muscles but the king prawns were left out!, plus the black bean sauce was terrible (in 40 years I've never tasted a bad black bean sauce until now), the egg fried rice and vegetable noodles were bland and even the curry sauce was bland, I then thought the king prawn dish in a chilly sauce has got to taste good, but it was disgusting. I guarantee you 100% that you can get a much better Chinese meal in Sainsburys, and good jar of black bean sauce ! I just threw it all away and I never waste food. I wouldn't waste my time writing this review if it wasn't true. Do not waste your money at Chans
