Old Post Office - Newark and Sherwood

Really nice pub food at a decent price. friendly staff and a good place for sport

Went in today with family for lunch after having been in a few times before on trips to Newark. The menu has changed and there are fewer choices plus a big increase in price but this is similar in many places so didn't deter us at that point. When ordering on the app we found there was no lasagne or fish &chips so those people found an alternative. Again, we found a way around this but the real disappointment was the portion sizes of some of the meals. I ordered the soup. I was aware this is listed as a starter after being advertised as coming with bread and butter I thought this would do as a light lunch. Soup arrived with two tiny extremely hard pieces of bread, no butter and about an inch of soup in the bottom of the bowl. Couldn't believe how little soup there was. Even had to ask for a spoon for it. My daughter's chicken tikka was tiny too, just padded out with lots of chips and a really dry pitta. Really disappointed and don't want to risk coming back. Another fab visitwe had a Christmas dinner and we honestly couldn’t fault it, nice and hot tasty went down a treat as usual the staff were great nothing was to much trouble. We always thoroughly enjoy whatever we eat here. 5 stars from us

Great pub that serves food! Our meals were delicious and the service was excellent too! Great choice of food and drinks all around was a great visit! Will be back
