I love popping by when I'm in the area. I have had their blackened catfish with a side of mac n cheese and rice/beans (sometimes collard greens), and it just hits the spot every time. I'm picky when it comes to Southern comfort food, and I'm happy I found this restaurant!

Love the atmosphere, and when you have a taste for southern breakfast, brunch or dinner this is the place to come to.

Found out about this spot today by accident. Went to a boil restaurant by mistake looking for some home cooked fish. A perfect stranger heard my cry (lol) and told me to ck out Vonda's so I did! Ok they were sold out of the biggest sellers so I thought oh no! I asked the very attentive hostess/waitress what would she recommend because I now wanted breakfast (changed my mind) and she recommended the fish and grits platter. Omg was it great! The grits were Parmesan cheesy and buttery, the fish was fried to perfection, the scrambled eggs, and home fries were perfectly comforting. There was so much food on the platter I had leftovers! My wife had the fish sandwich and we took home a whole extra meal consisting of WHOLE FRIED WINGS and 2 sides. We chose collard greens and mac cheese. We.also tried the pineapple coconut cake and it was fresh and not too sweet. We even met the owner/chef Vonda to let her know how much we enjoyed the meals. She was super delightful and welcoming we felt like we were at a family members home having Sunday dinner. Can't wait to see my fam again! See you soon family!

You’re charged a 25% gratuity charge for a group of 5 or more!! Which we did not see! Or would have left!!! The appetizer was $17 for 4 chicken wings!! The wings was pre-cooked and warmed up in the microwave the chicken was stuff!! The baked Mac and cheese was horrible, had a weird taste to it!! The sweet potatoes was from the can, and you charged me $300!! My son waited 10 minutes for his very very dry pancakes, syrup didn’t help them pancakes!! This is not a soul food restaurant!! And the 25% was a total rip off the food was disrespectfully disgusting! I paid an extra $50!!! For disgusting food that I gave to my dog. We left that place and went to McDonald’s!! So that’s MORE MONEY I spent!!!! And then talk about a tip!!! Not with that $50 gratuity fee!! This was the worst food ever!! Over priced for horrible food!! And now all of our stomachs hurt!!! Never again!! This is why I have a hard time supporting a black owned business, they over charge and the food is horrible!!!!!! The time you took in making the restaurant look nice, should have been the time you spent in cooking. This was a rip off!!! $300!!!!!!!!!! GONE!!!

Although the catfish nuggets are seasoned well, i would not order this again for $20. The portion size is not worth it, 7 pieces to be exact, you can get more for your money elsewhere. The cornbread was over baked as well and just tasted like regular bread in my opinion. I would recommend the salads, they are definitely worth the $20. Also it does not come with hush puppies anymore, the side choice is either fries or a salad.
