Nothing was specifically not good about this restaurant, but nothing specifically was good, either. If it didn’t have a Michelin star, I wouldn’t have thought too much about it one way or another, but I simply can’t understand how the achieved this milestone.
The sushi comes from the Michelin starred restaurant that shares a kitchen with Suzuki. Maybe it's just the nature of sushi (how much can you do to it? or too high of expectations by us, but nothing jumped out like other Michelin star experiences. The sushi was fresh and delicious, but we've had similarly great sushi at a variety of other places. As for the other food, the lotus chip appetizer was great and the edamame dumplings was okay. The grilled chicken shio koji was essentially inedible fatty and undercooked. We noted it to the waiter, but he took no steps in reducing our check or providing a gratis replacement.
Service was knowledgeable, friendly and did not rush. Food was fresh and sized beautifully. Attention to detail. They brought out a cake for my friend for her bday and I did not even ask. They did that on their own. It was lovely and delicious.
It does not deserve the Michelin star. The food doesn’t worth the price you pay for. Neither the raw material nor the elaboration of the dishes are remarkable. We will not come back again. The only good thing is the staff; they are nice.
