Bidra med feedbackWe came in on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday. We sat at the counter and Chef Yoshiko explained that she did not have any help that day and she was doing everything on her own so we knew that things might take a bit longer. It was impressive to see how she was able to serve everyone and keep track of courses for the different tables all on her own. You have the option to order from the menu a la carte or do the omakase regular for $80 or the premium for $120. We looked over the differences in both omakase options and I decided to go with the regular since I really wanted the Rabbit which is substituted for lamb in the premium option. I was able to try the premium option and compare it to the regular and I think the premium was definitely worth it if you're a fan of meat. The lamb and kobe beef were beyond delicious and cooked perfectly. Overall the food was very good but this place is quite expensive so I would only come here on a special occasion. When you check in on Yelp you can get up to $20 but in order to use that you need to check in 24 hours ahead, I've never heard of such restrictions especially since I only check in when I'm in the place. Gratuity is also added automatically so just be aware to avoid double tipping as the place is already very expensive.
Very intimate and full of great food and drink. wonderful sake selection and inventive dishes. go for the omakase menu
Looks can be deceiving. The food looked great...but really it was questionable...and the service was absolutely terrible. Honestly if I didn 't drink almost a whole bottle of sake. I would have disputed paying almost 300 hundred bucks for this place (200 for the meals almost $100 for sake and tip) They also add tip...which I wouldn 't have given him the amount he was asking considering the service was terrible. The original menu that we thought we were having...was not what we were having...we asked for the menu..we got a NO from the waiter. Excuse me? The server was terrible...he had no idea what he was serving us...he pretty much gave us the plate and expected to know what it was...and when we asked..he would have to ask...so...we have no menu and have no idea what we were eating...but glad to know that the dish I didn 't like was duck liver after it was in my mouth. He was not all there. This place is known for experiences...I didn 't receive that.
SUCH a cute, unique, and tasty experience. We called ahead because it was my friend's birthday and they do a free birthday omakase if you make a reservation (typically $80). We added on the sake pairing for $45, which includes generous pours of 6 different types of sake. The restaurant is run by the owner, chef, and waiter bartender Yoshiko Sakuma, a super nice and talented lady who chatted with us as we ate and taught us a lot about all the sake we drank. All the courses were so unique and beautifully presented you can see (and taste) all the technical work that went into each one. While the signature dish is the trapped rabbit, I think my favorite had to have been the duck breast with shiitake mushroom and sunflower seed rice. The duck was cooked to literal perfection and all the flavors were so complex yet perfectly balanced. The interior of the restaurant is so cozy and perfect for a rainy day. It really feels like you're dining in someone's home, especially since it really doesn't seat that many people which gives it a very intimate vibe. Highly highly recommend this unique omakase experience and so happy to have found this place! Definitely need more female and Asian owned restaurants in the city.
I'm between 4-5 stars but I'm feeling nice today. Upon walking in you're surrounded by all things rabbits, even down to the folding of the cloth napkin and plate. I found a deal on TravelZoo that just couldn't be beat- $80 for two for omakase. There are so many other deals here if you check in (must let them know 24 hours before to use) and for your birthday. Now onto the food, we did expect typical omakase with difference pieces of sushi but it was actually small dishes like in the photos. All of the dishes were specifically curated and beyond decadent and delicious! The menu changes often but I would have liked to see one piece of sushi at least. Service was great, but again different from your typical omakase place. Rabbit House is small and cozy but didn't allow for customers to interact with the chef and see how they prepare to food. To add, it's worth paying $46 for the sake pairing which immaculately complemented every single dish!
