Bidra med feedbackI really wanted to like this restaurant given that it is one of the few 3 Star Michelin restaurants in NYC and was one time listed among the World 's 50 Best. Unfortunately, it is starting to show its age (along with the Shops at Columbus Circle) and there is a sense that that the restaurant is trading off of its former glory and accolades. The portions are small and the majority of dishes taste okay (but are not mind-blowing). We also found the menu to be imbalanced and overweighted in favor of desserts. The lamb was also shockingly cold and tough, suggesting too much time on the pass and some of the classic dishes such as the Oysters and Pearls felt underprepared. At times it feels that the kitchen and the staff are simply going through the motions of service, which is disappointing given how Per Se presents itself. Given the extremely high price point (about $1,000 with tax, tip and drinks for two people) it is difficult to recommend Per Se given the host of other restaurants competing for your time and money. Note that service is already included although there is another line for additional gratuity .
Amazing culinary experience. We were fortunate to get a reservation at 4:30. The salad and oyster pearls were really good but the crab was a bit underwhelming. I definitely recommend upgrading to tagliatelle and wagyu for your last 2 dishes. They are worth it! Also the little dessert buffet was the best part at the end!! Thank you for the cutest NYC skyline.
It was disappointing to see all the sub charges for supplements that they suggested. We have been to many Michelin restaurants and never have been charged for sub ingredients. Nobody mentioned that either, and when we expressed a surprise, it did not seem that anybody cared about us. Most dishes were good, but not amazing. The best thing I tried was the caviar with strawberry sauce (turned out to be a supplement too). I understand it’s a posh location, and people want to try Keller’s restaurant, but if you can, just go to Aska instead. Sorry
I booked Per Se, and then my flight and hotel. It was a fine dining experience. For a Michelin 3-Star restaurant, the food was very good but not exceptional. The only dish that impressed me the most was the green circle Amish chicken – very original, creative, and flavorful. The variety of desserts was unexpected – they were wonderful! In addition to the 9-course meal of $390 pp, they offered other dishes ranging from $40 to $130. The staff was attentive and friendly. We were lucky Chef Thomas Keller was on site. He came out to greet the guests, and we took a picture with him.
Impeccable service, but the food was on the salty side, especially for French cuisine. The complimentary cookies I received before leaving were also too sweet. It's a so-so experience for the price you pay.
