Love it.. I first discovered Panchitos on Thanksgiving day, 1989. I spent the day in the city, and after trudging around in the slush for hours I found myself in the village and starving. I looked for the closest restaurant, and stumbled in the front door or Panchitos. The place was warm, cozy, and full of happy people. The drinks helped thaw my frozen body, and food thawed my soul. I don't remember what I ate there that day, but I remember it was good. <br/ <br/ Cut to September, 2009. Some friends and I were returning from a trip, and we had an overnight layover in New York. Based on my fond memories from nearly twenty years earlier, I suggested we try Panchitos. We found our way down to McDougal Street. It was not a disappointment. The margaritas were fantastic, the guacamole refreshing, and the array of enchiladas and burritos we had on the table was filling and comforting. The owner was there that night, and he was testing new cocktails. He sent over several for us to try. We couldn't have asked for a better meal, or a more welcoming atmosphere. <br/ <br/ Those same friends and I are going to be in New York for Thanksgiving 2010, and we will be having our holiday dinner at Panchitos. This may become a new tradition. <br/ <br/ If you're in the village, stop in. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
