Bidra med feedbackI recently dined at the classic Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side, and while the service left something to be desired, the food consistently exceeded expectations. The restaurant's timeless charm and impeccable dishes make it a must-visit for Italian cuisine on the upper east side. Despite the service hiccups, the culinary experience keeps me coming back for more.
I had a smoothee there. It was just perfect. The guy sam has magic in his hands.
An Upper East Side Classic! Every is very good. Great veal chop. Pricey but upscale crowd and many regulars from the neighborhood. Hard to go wrong, if you like Italian cuisine.
If you have had good Italian food, this isn’t the place for you. No complaints with the service and the atmosphere is what you would expect. If you want to enjoy your meal, go somewhere else :
Surprised that the food did not meet expectations. It was ... fine. Can get better Italian food at numerous places in the neighborhood. Crowded on a saturday night and the waiters seemed to be in a rush to turn over the tables. The caprese (they don't call it that) was ok, cheese had good texture and taste but the tomatos were underripe and tasteless. The clams oreganata were tasty but not worth what they ask. The spaghettini de mare was ... ok. Al Dente was aimed for but not achieved. The scant seafood (a few shrimp and a few scallops) were borderline overcooked. All together, being rushed through the meal and the value proposition does not call for a return visit.
