D'amato's Seafood Ii - New Haven

BESTEST, most flavorful and fresh seafood. I love the #3~ fish, shrimp, scallops, onion rings fries

D'Amato's came highly recommended so I'd love to give this another try... We ordered takeout (online, scheduled) and while the order was ready promptly at the time specified, unfortunately none of the food was hot. They also forgot part of the order (the fries onion rings a platter is supposed to come with) which is mainly why this is a 3 star review. EDITING to add received a really prompt and kind followup from the owner! Looking forward to going back! Also to add that my leftovers reheated really well at home afterwards.

The food is excellent prepared very well we had the fried whole belly clams and shrimp okay with french fries and I need rings I swear everything was made from scratch best in the area very busy always because you know the food is great excellent that's why nobody's in line at westville seafood stay away from there if you try their food you know what I mean anyway d amatos seafood has been around for 100 years because they are the best know how to make seafood

This was my first time here as I’m an out of towner just visiting for a few months. I was really excited to try the food since I absolutely love seafood and the reviews were great. Unfortunately, there was a long piece of hair in my shrimp and fries that I had to pull out of my mouth which is absolutely gross. I know for sure it wasn’t my hair because I have a pixie cut so it’s very short and this hair was really long and I literally sat down to eat as soon I returned to my hotel. My shrimp were overcooked and tasted like burnt grease but the lobster roll was ok. The service was good, the young lady at the register was really nice and let me take my time while trying to find what I wanted.

Takeout section is always crowded. Partly because it's small and partly because the food is good! Great customer service.
