Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes Fries - New Bern

Andy has big pommes and their shakes are awesome, but not very many vegetarian options. That can be bad if the rest of the family wants to eat there. But I love (most) from their food!

Hwy 55 is fantastic! The food is delicious, offering classic American diner fare. I had the Andy-sized Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a hot dog, and all three items were excellent—hot and juicy. I especially enjoyed the spicy hot dog served on a freshly baked roll. The service was great, too! My only complaint is that the place was a bit dirty, but I still felt safe. They also serve Pepsi products on tap, which I’m not a fan of. Despite these drawbacks, the prices are reasonable and the food is really good.

In my humble opinion, this place has the absolute best cheesesteaks, burgers, and shakes around. We definitely need one in Virginia Beach!

This is the best spot in James City for lunch. The manager is consistently friendly, and the waitstaff is always cheerful and great with customers. The food is amazing—always cooked to perfection. If you're looking for an affordable dining option in a delightful and welcoming atmosphere, Hwy 55 in James City is the place to go.
