The Bullpen - New Athens

Angie, I have been going to The Bullpen for several years now. I have never had the experience you described. Even when they have been very busy, we have never had any issues! I find it hard to believe that a waitress would say she needs a break and hope we are not eating. I have never heard any server complain about being busy or tired. The staff are all friendly, hardworking women. Their service is excellent and the food is always delicious!

If you are looking for takeout, this restaurant is great. However, I would not recommend dining in. The service is extremely slow - you may wait a very long time just for a drink, and it could take 35-40 minutes for one order. One example of this was when my friend ordered a Budweiser and it took 35 minutes to arrive. When we first sat down, the waitress even told us she was tired and needed to take it easy, which was very surprising and unprofessional. Despite being a group of 12, we only stayed for one drink, did not order food, and left. We will not be returning to dine in, but the food from the kitchen is amazing for takeout orders.

The wings are amazing and you can't go wrong with a Blue Moon draft for $2.75. I will definitely be returning to try the burger next time.
