Now, I’m left with this unwanted shipment and a charge they refuse to refund. Make sure to read the cancellation policy carefully before subscribing here.
The food is quite good, but their delivery system is absolutely terrible, especially given that they charge for it. I really wanted to support and enjoy this vegan company, but their delivery fees are steep, and they don't allow you to choose a delivery date. This makes it impossible to plan your meals for the week, even after paying $10 for delivery on top of around $30 per meal! It's really frustrating. To succeed, they need to improve their delivery process.
Our first set of meals arrived warm and had to be discarded. While the packaging was nice and well-insulated with ice packs, it doesn't seem effective for meals that spend the whole day in a delivery truck. When I reached out to Purple Carrot for help, they refunded the order but wouldn’t let me apply my first order coupon to the next one, stating it was only for the initial purchase. Their customer service was frustratingly unhelpful; it felt like talking to a wall, as they simply followed a script and didn’t engage in a reasonable conversation. I would recommend steering clear of this service and just picking up some Amy's microwave meals at the grocery store instead.
I really liked how the meals were pre-portioned, which made cooking feel more manageable. However, I couldn't afford it one week, so I decided to cancel my subscription. I received an email confirmation stating that it was canceled, but then I was charged for another order. I emailed them, but received no response, and another order was shipped to me. Finally, they canceled my account, but since I hadn't had the chance to choose my meals, I ended up with two deliveries that we didn't even eat. I'm so disappointed. It seems like they should make it easier to find the option to delete an account, as I believed it was taken care of when I emailed for confirmation.
I am incredibly disappointed with the service and would rate them 0 stars if I could. My first order was canceled due to a lack of ingredients. Then this morning, on Thursday, I was informed that there was an issue with my payment method, which led to my account being suspended, causing my reserved celebration box to be canceled just a week before Thanksgiving. I was told the deadline to resolve the issue was Tuesday night—why wasn’t I informed sooner? Their poor communication and service have ruined my Thanksgiving plans. I cannot recommend them and will never order from them again. This company is truly awful.
