Ellie's Deli - Naperville

Very friendly staff, great food! Chicken salad was amazing!

My husband and I tried Ellie's for the first time the other day. It. Was. Amazing! Ellie's daughter made recommendations and told us all about the menu. She was so helpful. And the food was so good! We split a Brazilian steak and a Philly cheesecake and they were both phenomenal. The handmade chips were pretty tasty, too. New favorite place for lunch! And I love that it's a small, family owned business.

Today was my first ever visit to this business. Their lunch special was an attractive offer, as I have seen it earlier in their window. I phoned in my order ahead and I was asked to allow 15 minutes prior to picking up my order. My order was ready for me when I arrived. I was greeted and I paid for my meal and left. I am a retired chef and have 15 years of restaurant experience working in extremely challenging and very stressful moments when the restaurant fills with walk in customers who are under the assumption that they will be in and out in five minutes. At times I really wish it worked that way for me as well but that couldn't be further from the truth. Compound that with CoVid and a dire shortage of the ability to find anyone willing to put on an apron and rise to that level of challenge. Perhaps we could lower all of our levels of high expectations by simply having compassion in some capacity towards these businesses and individuals who are doing all they can to meet the demands of customers who are easily disappointed and believe that waiting is unacceptable in an unfortunate unprecedented time. Please call ahead. It will save a lot of time and we can get past this together. I will definitely return to Ellie's Deli and thank them each time for all of their service and efforts to remain in business.

I recently placed a catering order for boxed lunches for a work engagement. Everything went extremely smoothly and the recipients of the boxed lunches said everything was delicious (especially the orzo salad). The catering manager also followed up with me a few days later to ask how everything went. Thank you Ellie's Deli for a great first experience. I will definitely order for future events!

I've been going to Ellie's for a little more than a year now, and they never disappoint. It's a great place, and is run by a very nice family who genuinely want their customers to be happy. Can't recommend highly enough.
