Bidra med feedbackI am not sure if it is related to QCWA, but the chefs in Outback Queensland (if Nanango can be considered part of it) create incredible, delicious, and addictively tasty dishes. They give a new meaning to Bakery/Cookhouse. We arrived late and missed out on some of the exotic fare, but my ham and leek pie, and my partner's classic beef pie were outstanding, as was their feta and spinach pastry and even their simple sausage roll. The baking was flavorful, the fillings fantastic, and the meal thoroughly satisfying. We opted to sit on a bar stool outside, enjoying the beautiful day and being entertained by a family of willy wagtails hoping for a taste of our treats. The latte we had with our meal was also delicious. This place is a real gem!
The pie at this restaurant is amazing. It is baked to perfection - soft and delicious. I tried a rodeo pie and while I can't recall all the ingredients, it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely return to this restaurant, and I don't usually eat pie.
This bakery is easily accessible for tourists, as it is located on the main road in the city. However, I would highly recommend finding another bakery. Upon entering, I was disappointed to find that there were no signs indicating what items were available or their prices. This made it difficult to make a selection. I ultimately chose a pastry labeled simply as 'Danish', but I couldn't even discern what flavor it was supposed to be. The taste was off-putting and lacking in any real flavor. I also ordered a chai latte to accompany my food, but it turned out to be the worst chai latte I have ever had. It was overly sweet with a strange perfume-like aftertaste, possibly from artificial rose and musk flavors. It was undrinkable and I had to throw it away after just a few sips. I would give this bakery zero stars and recommend saving your money and avoiding it altogether.
Here for lunch on a landing last weekend and unfortunately they had sold out my first 2 choices so on pfeffer bark cake, gatter served fast and we both enjoyed our torte so much was really trying to get another. Flaky bakery... with a filling that doesn't work on the second. well done
I was in town doing some work up the road and called in here for a late lunch before heading back to Brisbane. There were lots of customers in there so that's always a good sign. Lots of choice but I got a bacon and...egg roll and a lamington. Both were very nice.
