Paddy Shack - Nakusp

The four of us ordered a veggie wrap, poutine, and a burger. We had ice cream and milkshakes for dessert, which were good, but nothing special. The veggie wrap was the best and most flavorful. The poutine serving is large, so either have that be your meal or share. My one complaint about the poutine is that they didn't melt the cheese. It was cold, chunks on top of the poutine. I ended up picking it off.

Clean, friendly and great quality food. Enjoyed dipped soft ice cream and fried zucchini sticks. Family run. Worth a stop.

Speaking for locals, The Shack is a cornerstone of our summer munchies. I always get a chicken burger, my brother gets hotdogs and my boyfriend loves the lamb donairs. We eat here pretty regularly and the owner, Angie, is always a joy to see. Last week we ordered food to take back to our house as we were nursing a hangover. My boyfriend's donair had the wrong sauce, which never happens, so he called to let them know. She apologized and brought a new one to our house! We don't live that far away, but still...that's how awesome this place is!

So, we were staying at Nakusp Hot Springs and got take-home Chinese one night. Apparently, during the summer tourist season this is a burger joint but during the winter they are open 4:30 = 7:30 for Chinese takeout. Which worked. Some of the food was quite tasty:The chicken chow mein was bland and boring, don't order it. The ginger beef was very, very good. Your meals don't come with rice, you have to order it on the side. Which is OK. Support this place - the Chinese is good for a small town and your order will help small town teenagers have a place to work.

Tried the winter menu which is Chinese food on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Excellent quality, good service. I would recommend.
