Bidra med feedbackThis Los Reyes location has closed and is now Pop's Kitchen. The service and food were both good, and the prices were reasonable. It's a very unpretentious place, but I can see a lot of potential here.
This restaurant is no longer called Los Reyes; it is now named Jose's. The food was good, but they don't have a waitstaff. You place your order similar to a fast food place and sit wherever you like to eat. This would be acceptable if the prices weren't comparable to those of a sit-down restaurant.
Without a doubt, this is the most authentic Mexican food we've had north of the border (having lived in Mexico for several years). It was excellent! Very delicious!
The food was incredible! I had chicken tacos wrapped in homemade corn tortillas, and they were fantastic. The salsa bar offered a variety of fresh and tasty options. My husband tried both the steak and chicken enchiladas, and he said they were excellent as well! We’ll definitely be returning frequently.
I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant, the worst I've had in a long time. They don't offer complimentary chips and salsa unless you purchase them, and everything is served on styrofoam, which felt very uninviting. I ordered a Colorado Burrito, and it arrived cold and quite bland. My husband tried both the tamales and enchiladas, and everything on his plate was at best room temperature. The tamales were impossible to get out of their wrappers, even with scraping. The meat was unidentifiable—reminded me of the mystery meat from the cafeteria back in the day. They didn’t have unsweetened tea or drink refills, and the absence of coupons was disappointing as well. I really wanted to support a local place, but after this experience at Los Reyes on Munford Ave, we won’t be returning. It honestly wasn't worth the effort of getting cleaned up and going out!
